Bella is the luckiest dog in the world - a new family and new BFF

The Hunsicker Family adopted a rescue dog, Bella, several weeks ago. She's a beagle-lab-shephard mix (perhaps) and she is settling into her forever home nicely. Everything excites Bella. Each walk is the best one yet. She loves greeting people in our home and will immediately roll over on her back and welcome any and all belly rubs. She is a little overweight, but we're working on that. Her new best buddy is Cooper, our next door neighbor's black lab. He's a very sweet dog, same age as Bella, and will allow her to often times get the best of him. When he's had enough, he simply runs away.

Bella tries but can't outrun Cooper. They very much enjoy chasing each other until both are exhausted. Bella came to us from Rescue Animal Placement. She was well cared for by the Marquart's, a very generous foster family, for the last 13 months. We are lucky to have found her. Here are some pics of Bella and Cooper I thought I'd share.

Bella is one lucky pup, 1. to have found such a loving, generous family to grow old with and 2. to have found such a wonderful BFF right next door! And the Hunsicker's are incredibly lucky to have found such a happy, grateful pup (but then, aren't they all)! Prayers do come true! Give Bella a belly-rub for me until I can do that in person...can't wait to meet her! XXOO

  2. Bella, this is your "other" Aunt, Doo! I know how lucky you are to have picked the Hunsickers, but I also know it doesn't compare to the joy you have brought to them....I, too, can't wait to give you an in person belly rub, but until then, I expect you will have all you want! Love from your cousins Phoebe and Dakota (in Naples, FL) and from your MomMom. We so enjoy see pics of you and your best buddy until we can see you in PA! Love, Doo and MomMom, Phoebe and Dakota

  3. You are very lucky with your dog! Congratulations!!!

I would not advertise for Rescue animal placement, personally... They placed with us an animal with a history of aggressivness with no notice. We have never been reimbursed for the medication costs after about a year although we were fostering. This dog had been biting staff at two different kennels prior to be placed in my home with a child and a small dog!!!! RAP has a bad reputation. Please check your rescue organization's history before fostering or adopting. Otherwise, your life could turn to hell overnight. There are many great recues organizations out there...
